Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390
I've been using the Orbx AI in P3D for years now as that was the only place to get the old payware HTAI single engine Cessnas converted. The C-208 Pod PBR is in the P3Dv5 install, crisis averted on my end.

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390
Just to clarify, Jon says 7 Caravans for Brazil. Scramble says at least 30 (C-98) active. Which is the correct figure?
Let's review whether you want me to make the C-98 or not, after I've finished the 99s (coming along very well).

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390
As far as I can tell, there are 9 C-208Bs and 20+ C-208s, John.
Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390
I'm going off the list Scramble list Henk provided in this thread.
8 C-98's (Caravan I) one was written off
26 C-98A's (Grand Caravan) and two were written off.

Got it thanks. So, is it right that the C-98s have passenger seats, while the C-98As ("pure cargo", according to Wikki) do not?

Hopefully I can finish LHKE before delivery of first C-390.

I would say the interiors for both aircraft are "convertible" depending on mission.

Yep that seems to be the case in the photo - the C-98A has seats. So from our point of view, I assume the same model will do both variants.

do they still use the AMX (A-1) ?
if they do, do you want me to paint them ?

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390
I recently read something about this and if I remember correctly they still do, although the AMX should be replaced with another aircraft - can't remember which one.
And your paints are always welcome, Ray

Yes, Ray. The long-term fleet is just 14 aircraft (of 56 delivered), due to be replaced by 2032.

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390
Morning all
I've had a bit of a chat with John this morning and he's proposed that I take on the role of 'package manager' for this FAB collection. I'll be honest and admit that that's quite an intimidating prospect as I am very much a junior participant in the MAIW ecosphere and you guys probably have far more experience than me in this sort of stuff, but I'm willing to give it a go if you'll bear with me. If anyone feels they'd rather not be tied to a package deal, please shout out and we'll rethink it. It started off with John doing the KC-390 and me contributing some scenery and it has grown into far more than that now, and I don't want anyone to feel this is a burden or a responsibility they'd rather not have.
To put it all in context, this is what I think we are all doing at the moment:
John Young: KC-390, C/E/R-11 (Emb-145 derivatives). He's completed the KC-390, and the 99 collection is well on its way.
Me: SBAN airfield and updates for other Brazil airfield AFCADS to accommodate the traffic.
Ray Parker: repaints for the JMAI F-5E/F, JAI P-3C, and MPAI AMX.
Jon Dix: repaints for HTAI C-98, C-98A.
I haven't managed to establish contact with Tranquil about the KRAI F-39/JAS-39E/F (I left a message on his post about the repaint on Facebook) but I'm hopeful that he will want to help out.
I have put together some test traffic files but they are far from comprehensive and probably bear little resemblance to reality. In particular, I am struggling to establish exactly how the C-98s are distributed and how they work in practice. We have legacy traffic files for the F-5s and Mirage packages which are probably adaptable for Ray's F-5s and the F-39 (if we get it), and the KC-390 can probably adopt some of the existing C-130 traffic rotations. As far as I know, we have nothing for the AMX, Phenom, L-35, C-295 or A-29 Super Tucano (for which only one Brazil paint exists, as far as I can tell), and I have no idea if the traffic files for the older A/T-27 Tucano reflect its current role as the advanced trainer at the Air Force Academy.
There are several other types in the inventory, most of which I haven't yet investigated.
I'm open to suggestions, corrections, criticisms and offers of further help (particularly on traffic) but - if you guys agree to this way of working - I'd like to finalise the scope of the package within the next week or so, with the aim of putting a test package together by the end of the month. John and I both work only in P3D and FSX; we won't be looking at making this available in FS9. However, if anyone feels the need to add FS9 versions to their own contributions I'm sure they'd be welcomed. If further contributions are proposed but can't be done within the suggested timescale, we can either delay slightly or issue them separately but within the FAB context at a later date.
The KC-390 has the potential to be the catalyst for several new national packages in future; John and I had already started looking at Hungary before it became obvious that Brazil was the logical first step. All suggestions welcome!

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390
Tim,
If this helps any Scramble shows that there is one C-98/99 unit at SBAN.
If you then search for that unit in the database they have 5x E-99M and 3x R-99s.
So if you are just doing a package for SBAN then that should simplify it.
Now the C-98s seemingly are used as light transports and base hacks. As 2°/6°GAv also has C-98 on its allocation.
Now I am not completely au fait with the Brazilian naming system but I think that the unit name means the 2nd sqn of 6 Wing.
In the database there are none allocated specifically to 2°/6°GAv.
I think that any C-98 is a temporary allocation for hack purposes and 2°/6°GAv are the ones that operate it.
Of course I could be reading it wrong but there are none allocated specifically to 2°/6°GAv.

Tim,
I've painted the Brazilian Phenoms 100s and they are in the Hanger, or at this link.
https://kyles-ai-works.com/wp-content/u ... jondix.zip
Marco Kosterman has done the Legacy 500's, link below.
https://jcai.dk/brazilian-air-force-emb ... -50-fleet/
I can also do the Learjets as well, and for planning I should have the C-98A's finished by the weekend.
Did find these from 2016.
