Yes, and he is close to have it perfect including VC conversion. It’s great to read the stunning ping-pong he and Tom have while they tackle it @ FSDeveloper.

Send from mobile hence short

I don't seem to have the PM from you.
More than willing to send what you need.

If you would like to do the Block 40's, I think there are about 30 of each (C and D), I will do some loadouts for you.
Just give me a list of what loadouts you would like. 4 or 5 for each.

Ditto for the Sufa's.

Will need an effective way of sending files etc, they are quite large. I though you would have a folder on our FTP as you are a Developer.
Oh you do, but its archived!

Hi Kev.
Can I take you up on your offer ..Could you send me some Block 40 models. ie a few loadouts .

That would help loads ....

My folder is missing from the FTP but you could just put them in your own and I could get them from there ..
Many thanks Buddy ..

Kev I have a question. Is there a model that has this CFT but no drag shot extension behind the vertical tail ..
The one I have is for the Egyptian F-16 twin stick.. This model has to many lumps and bumps over the fuselage..These need to be painted separately,

If you have any ideas..

F-16E/F Block 60s don't have the chute housing.
There is an FS9 version in the download hanger.

You could also try to use MCX to convert one of the P3d models back to FS9.
Arno is working on a FSX to FS9 conversion, so you never know.

I think the capability may be in the latest Developer release???

I an following this process at the moment. It does appear to be bearing fruit but there are still issues so it will be some time before it is usable for what we want.
At the moment there is a lot of work on converting FSX to FS9. Once that reaches a certain level then there will be P3D to FS9 development.

Yeah.
I had a quick look at the thread. It would seem the remaining issues mainly revolve around VC and props?
If so you never know it may work

This may be a very basic question, here goes, will P3D AI aircraft work in FSX? I see some down loads that indicate FSX/P3D and others that just say P3D. Is there a difference? Thanks.

I will let somebody like Tim explain the details but yes there is a difference. The P3D only ones are compiled for P3Dv4 and above, I think, and therefore not completely compatible with FSX.

However, the MCX project will, I believe, also cover P3D to FSX. From what I know this should be the easiest conversion to make.

In general, aircraft compiled for P3D will work in FSX if they don't use P3D-style PBR textures. Aircraft compiled for P3Dv4.4 and above may have the newer-style texture definitions and won't work in the earlier sims. As far as I'm aware, there's no difference in things like animation mechanics, so it's mainly a materials thing. One part of this that people may be aware of is the use of scripts and dynamic lighting. If these are required by the aircraft model, it won't work properly (and may not appear) in FSX.

As a side note, I have just tried to convert one of Kev's Baraks.
It converts absolutely fine, however when I tested in game to see if it was OK, The game rejects it. A requestor pops up to announce that the mdl will not be loaded.

So at the current state of play there is something that FS9 does not like. With my FSX testing there have been issues in game BUT the game has always loaded it.

Will try again once the project has moved on.

A brief update.
Retried with the latest dev updates and the P3D mdl still converts and compiles but now loads in FS9.
However, not all of the anims convert successfully. Surprisingly the complex exhaust does but the simple flaps don't. I know what is wrong but it needs Arno to fix it.
This will take some time as he is up to his eyeballs in other issues at the moment.

Going through Gavin's FSX conversion doc to see if there is anyway I can manipulate things myself in the mean time.

Is it only the flaps? That would hardly be a deal breaker!

Yes it appears that it was only the flaps. However, I found a workaround.
I have reported the issue to Arno to see whether it is an xml code incompatibility issue or an xml formatting issue. I basically got around it by altering the xml code for the flaps.

I believe that it is ready for a test by somebody other than myself. So Kev, do you still have FS9 installed and want to check it or should I ask Mark W?

So far I have converted only 1x mdl and 1x texture but I think that it is at a proof of concept point.
