U-2 question

Post by Joseph29 »

I am changing up the flightplans for the U-2's based at Beale AFB and I have a question. I know the U-2's stop at Fairford while going to and from the Middle East. Do they stop over anywhere else or do the fly direct to/from Beale to Fairford?

I am nor sure whether they do fly that route for the Middle East missions. Two are based at RAF Akrotiri and have been for decades, even as far back as when i was in. They were CIA in those days though, now they are from the 9th.

I believe there's 2 on rotation at Fairford as well, they rotate airframes & pilots on a regular basis but from what I understand there's always 1 or 2 based there
