Two bits of news regarding NAF Atsugi:

1) JMSDF 3 Kokutai has sent away the last of it's P-3Cs and is now a P-1 only squadron

2) VAW-124 and VAQ-141 have moved to MCAS Iwakuni. The rest of CAW 5 should be done moving by May 2018. The only components that will remain at NAF Atsugi are the Seahawk squadrons.

There is a section on Iwakuni near where the ospreys hang out that is a construction site in your latest Iwakuni scenery that now appears complete. Looks like three huge hangers and angled fighter jet parking. A good guess as to where CAW5's new home will be.

That is indeed CAW-5s ramp... and it's not under construction in my latest version of Iwakuni.... but... that's a secret.

Coming soon:

Updated paints and flightplans for 301, 302 and 501 Hikotai, to be packaged with an almost complete rebuild of my Hyakuri/Ibaraki scenery:

These are done on the NMAI F-4EJ Kai, RF-4EJ Kai and RF-4E Kai models

302 is scheduled to move to Misawa and transition into F-35As by the end of 2018, so this year will be the last great gathering of JASDF Phantoms.

The Hyakuri update just needs a small update to the documentation, so it should probably be going to the Hangar for uploading tomorrow.

There is something else I have been working on alongside that package. Back when John and I first talked about doing the UH-72/EC-145 package, we briefly talked about also doing the BK117 C-2s in use by several emergency services agencies in Japan. The problem with that idea is that almost every helicopter has a unique and distinct paint scheme and it would have seriously delayed the release of the main package in order to create that many unique paints.

Right now there are 25 BK117 C-2s painted up with a couple more planned. Several small heliport sceneries are also being created to represent the bases these aircraft operate from.

Hi Brent, what about the previous 305-Hyakuri F-15 traffic file?
Can I leave it there or must be removed?

Thanks, Giorgio

305 has moves to Nyutabaru. There's an update higher on the page that will move their T4s, but not updated plans for the F15s yet. In the meantime, you can either delete them or swap RJFN for RJAH in the existing flight plans.

Thanks Brent, I leave it there for the moment. A simple swap in the FP with RJFN probably doesn't work so well, bases are too distant.

Thanks, Giorgio
