Object Libraries for MAIW packages

Post by Janeway »

Nowadays, some authors create military airbases using MAIW Object Libraries:

Two recent ones are:
a) LIMS - Piacenza San Damiano FS9 (see link below)
http://www.flightportal.it/forum/viewto ... 55&t=54883

b) FS2004 Zweibrucken Air Base scenery by Brian Clarke (see link below)
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DL ... CatID=root

In both cases, the authors state that several MAIW object libraries are required, and
both these authors post the same link to these libraries

For example, here's what one author says:
The scenery has been constructed using objects mainly from MAIW sceneries, which will need to be installed in order to gain the full visual experince.

Libraries needed are:
Atsugi Object Library.bgl
Beaufort Object Library.BGL
GGSE.BGL
MAIW_ABO.BGL
MAIW_Cargo.BGL
MAIW_Czech_Objects_Library.bgl
MAIW_MirageF1_Objects_Library.bgl
MAIW_RAF_Operational_Buildings_Library.BGL
MCDMilitaryLibrary.bgl

To find out which file can be found where, go to the MAIW file library:

http://www.militaryaiworks.com/filelibr ... files.html

And do not forget, you will also need the textures for these libraries, otherwise you will only see grey/white boxes.

And here's what the second author says:

Servono le seguenti librerie di MAIW (http://www.militaryaiworks.com/filelibr ... files.html)

add dwag hangers.BGL
ag tree lib.BGL
Atsugi Object Library.bgl
Beaufort Object Library.BGL
egxc bldgs library.bgl
GGSE.BGL
grossetto objects.bgl
MAIW ABO.BGL
maiw aircraft shelter library.bgl
MAIW Cargo.BGL
MAIW Lecce-Galatina Object Library.BGL
MAIW MirageF1 Objects Library.bgl
MAIW RAF Domestic Buildings Library.bgl
MAIW RAF Hangers Library.BGL
MAIW RAF Operational Buildings Library.BGL
Nick's Landivisiau ObjectsL.BGL
parking lots large ss.bgl
Saint Dizier Burms.BGL

In EACH case, they point to the SAME link :

http://www.militaryaiworks.com/filelibr ... files.html

However, I have NOT been able to locate this page.
And it would be a great help to be able to download and install ANY object library from ANY package by MAIW.

Does this page exist, or not ?

That database for that page was maintained by Graham King who unfortunately left the hobby a while ago. The information on that page was getting hopelessly outdated plus some files were corrupted in a hack and unrecoverable, so we were forced to take the page down.

Hi Janeway.

Just read your post.

Scenery Objects and texture files have been a problem for a little while since an MAIW member stopped looking after the libraries.

There have been a few posts on the Forum with regards to a specific place that they could be downloaded from.

The sheer size of the Lib Objects and textures alone would take some time to collate.

In fairness a clue to some Lib Obs and textures are in the given packages but there are several that are not.

Plus moving away from MAIW there are external packages from other authors that need to be downloaded from Avsim or Flightsim. i.e EZ scenery etc.

MAIW packages are updated to keep up with modern trends so some older packages get lost into the Avsim files and unless you know what these are they are difficult to find.

One such is the RAF Coningsby package for egxy. The latest is by Gary Barker but scenery objects used are from the earlier package (MAIW (Military AI Works) RAF 121 EAW RAF Coningsby)

So a search on Avsim will only bring the latest one up.

Sadly my old faithful HD decided to give up the ghost a few months back and I completely lost all my Libraries.

What I propose to do is go through the MAIW packages and extract all the relevant Object Libraries and textures plus those that can be downloaded from the other sites.

Maybe not a great help to you at the moment but I will try and do something to help to find where these objects can be found and downloaded from.

Kindest regards

Brian
