RAE Bedford release

Post by delbydoo »

Hi all,
Sorry it took a little longer in coming than I expected but finally, Mr. Brian Clarke brings you the Royal Aircraft Establishment Bedford. Plus a couple of little repaints by yours truly. Please read the Readme, there are downloads that are needed for this project and don't forget - whatever libraries you need, you will also need the textures. Easiest thing to do is install whatever packages are needed then delete what you don't need from those packages (usually this will just be the aircraft). Enjoy!

Thanks, Daryl. Where can I download the FMAI Tornado GR1 model? I can't use the PAI installer on my PC.

You will need to download the Saudi Tornado Package as it states in the readme, in which there is a download link for the pack on the picture of the Tornado.....

Mr Clarke and Mr Doo, you are stars of the first order!! Bedford is a much needed addition to my retro setup; I'd been working on an updated version of Cees Donker's Thurleigh, but this one blows my efforts out of the water! Now the only thing I'm missing for a truly retro RAE Bedford is a Hunting H.126; dammit, I might have to have another crack with FSDS. :(

Thanks Andy, Brian did all of the groundwork (literally) so full credit to him. If you're going to do the H.126 - how about a bedstead as well? Joking......

Hi Brian & Daryl.
Am using this in FSX. Looks great from the air - the AI is really good!
Problem is when on the ground the runway has hills on top of it. Watching a landing AI Bucc is like imagining an HS2 train burrowing through the Chilterns - fun for a while but I'd prefer a normal runway.
Quite understand that if this problem is specific to FSX you might not be prepared to supply a fix but thought I'd ask anyway.

John,

Load the airport with ADE (Airport Design Editor), create an Airport Flatten & Background that roughly represents the airport shape, compile that and you are done.
Cheers,
Martin

Hi John, unfortunately neither Brian nor I run FSX, so there is no way in duplicating this to get a fix.

Absolutely, but do not forget to import the OBJ file before compiling, otherwise you will lose all of the scenery and just be left with an AFCAD.

I might be an idiot but are there FP's that get these aircraft going?
I also am curious about the JYAI DC-3's that are in the same colors.

Hi, there are no plans at the moment, but give me a couple of days and I'll be able to get some done. Don't understand your about the DC-3? If you want to download it, it is on my site - click the banner below.

I found the *correct* DC-3 model and I found the textures.
There is a difference between the JAI DC-3 and the JYAI DC-3.
Thank you, gentlemen. I await the FP's eagerly. 8)
