I downloaded it and will install it tomorrow. From the screenshots it looks really nice! I love all the buildings he put in the middle of the airfield.

Isn't strange that there are not parking spots on the NE apron?

I played around with this new scenery last night.
It's really great and I did not have any impact on frame rates even with hundreds of AI aircrafts on the ramps.

I updated the AFCAD file and added all the parking spots for the T-38s.

T-38 repaints by Jason Rogers can be found at AVSIM:
randolph_t-38.zip http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Sea ... &Go=Search
65-10317_replacement_texture.zip http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Sea ... &Go=Search
Flightplans are available here: http://www.militaryaiworks.com/newforum ... ph#p122672

I also made a flatten file because I had some floating objects in the south probably caused by the FSGenesis terrain mesh I am using.

There were some CTDs when loading the scenery during dusk and dawn.
Some investigation showed that the night textures for the airport background are missing.
So I made some black airport background textures.

The bgl files go into Randolph AFB\scenery\
The texure files go into Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\World\texture\

Enjoy!

Thanks for those. It might be worth dropping John a pm, especially about what you found about the night textures.

Thank you Hartwig for the night textures. I normally don't use them at all and am not experiencing the CTDs myself. However we all know how individual systems can react differently and I am very grateful for you posting this fix on the Forum.

[edit] you might also want to upload the patch to Avsim for everone who might not check the MAIW boards. :)

I just installed this scenery. It is really nice! Going to do some AI spotting at the base. :)

I have a question about the AFCAD. Does anyone know what side of the base the T-1's park? Cause with Johns AFCAD they are on one side, but with hawk_sh new AFCAD they are on the other side of the base. Which one is right?

Nice fix for the crashes at dusk and dawn. Perhaps this was the cause of the crashes during dusk and dawn at MAIW Nellis AFB and MAIW Great Falls sceneries?

My modified AFCAD file is based on the AFCAD file that came with the MAIW package, so I put the T-1 parking spots on the other side.

You can use File Monitor to see which texture files FS9.exe is searching for but can not be found.
I had the same issue with the Klamath Falls scenery some time ago. There were also missing night textures.

As anyone had this issue with Randolph? When I would select that airfield or another one in close proximity during daylight the game would load to 55% then give an error saying fs needs to close. Troubleshooting I discovered that if I removed these two files everything loads ok.

Randolph1_VTPH Seasonal.BGL
Randolph_VTPL.BGL

Also does the Randolph_VTPL.BGL get rid of the two trees on runway 14L-32R?

Hi

The VTPH_seasonal file will load the photo textures. These textures need to be in FS9\Scenery\World\Textures folder.
It would appear that the VTPH file is not finding the textures or there is a nearby scenery that also has ground photo textures and these conflict.

The VTPP file will remove the trees because it changes the ground surface to grass.

The VTPL file draws lines, roads rivers etc.

Try a reinstall of the files.

If you have add-on sceneries of San Antonio or Texas landclass etc disable them temporarily and see if you get a change.

Hi

Do you have the old Randolph scenery 'rafb2006' by James Shaddox installed, or parts of it?

I just double checked my installation and there are no issues.
My guess is that you haven't put all the textures that are required in the right folders. I would go back and check the original package and double-check all the folders and the instructions.

Some files go into FS9 default folders and not the scenery folder added by the package.

Reloaded the scenery and it's working this time. Must have been another file that was newer causing a conflict. I just replaced all the files with what was in the package other than the afcad.

Thanks for the help.
