Carrier 2006

Post by jimrodger »

I know it's an old package, but here goes anyway.....

Within this package there are AFCAD sceneries for 18 Nimitz class carriers flatten.
Each of these has an associated flatten scenery to sort out a known problem, also within the Flatten Folder there are numerous other flattens for several other ships throughout various locations worldwide. eg USS Boxer, HMS Ark Royal
These other ones do not have associated AFCAD or sceneries, does anyone know if an update was ever released with these omissions included?

TIA

Jim

Hi Jim.

I don't saw any update, but can say that I discover that package last month and create an AI traffic for the US Carriers with F/A-18 Hornets and Super Hornets of the MAIW packages. 19 aircraft on each wing. Nothing too complicated.

However there is a problem:

The aircraft are recovered aboard each aircraft carrier and stops far from the bow, at sea, and returns floating over the sea to the flight deck(yes, it looks funny, but is tragic).

Because of this, I set the traffic so that planes take off and come back about an hour later, near midnight.

At least, for now, the decks of the aircraft carriers look crowded, as my plane is launched and recovered aboard (on daytime).

Hi Leuen.

Is in format AF2_XXX. What shows? the usual pattern: the runway (in this case run along the oblique ramp of the aircraft carrier), taxiways and parking spots.

I think the problem is the performance of the aircraft, not modelled to this class of operation in a very short runway.

NBAI Rafale and Super Etendard have a FDE file for Carrier operation.
Perhaps using their AIR file for other acft.

My question was whether the taxiways are shown outside the carrier, when they are projected on the carrrier itself.
