Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Sorry I've been quiet for a week or so. John and I are continuing to refine the airfields for Part 1 and 2. I'm taking a weekend off, but thought I'd better check in and see when I last posted. Those who can visit the FTP will see some progress (it all in the documentation - easier than a random tra...

Re: Need a hangar

Check the MAIW Global libraries. I think the ABO library has something similar.

Re: Tango's workbench

They're Rubb hangars (it's a trade name). I think there are some in one of JY's scenery contributions to the MAIW Global Custom Library.

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Hi all. It's been a bit slow this week as I'm involved in a big concert this upcoming Sunday, and rehearsals are taking up a lot of time! I've just resigned from an admin position at another club I'm involved in, however, which will give me a bit more time going forward. However, I've just uploaded ...

Re: Blender and FS9

MCX is a wonderful app that has recently been adapted to make the conversion of FSX (and possibly P3D) models to FS9 much easier and more reliable, which is a feature you may find useful. But the best place to discuss that is over at FSDeveloper.com, the forum run by MCX's author, Arno Gerretsen. Yo...

Re: Blender and FS9

1. Yes 2. No Wot John said. Blender is incredibly complex. Indeed, it is capable of producing full-motion photorealistic animated movies with all the associated effects all within that single program. Picking out and learning the elements of the program that are relevant to computer game 3D model ma...

Re: Urgent Forum Maintenance

I have no idea how much traffic the Hangar was getting before the revamp, but it does appear that it has been missed and that there is still an audience for what we do. I hope we can keep them entertained for a long time to come. Once again, thanks to Greg and all the others that helped in the backg...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Knocked it out of the park again, Ray! Thank you so much. John's found the secret error in my technique of reformatting my P3D airfields for FSX so I've got a bit of remedial work to do. I hope that I can use the remaining downtime of the Hangar upload system to fill in a few details in some of the ...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

For those who may not have noticed, the Hangar is back. We can download, but we can't yet upload. John and I are busy refining various aspects of the airfields, but I'm hopeful that Part 1 (Central) will be ready to upload fairly soon. This will include my SBAN, John's SBGP, the modified stock SBBR ...

Greg wrote: 27 Apr 2024, 14:35 The download hangar is back. It may look a bit messy, but at least everything should be functioning again.

I still need to recreate the upload form with all the right fields so that will take a bit more time.

Happy downloading!

Fantastic news, Greg. Thank you so much for your hard work.

Re: RAF Tengah

I’m pretty sure that is an air start cart. It’s not a model I recognise, but this is some years before the RAF started to understand that ground air-conditioning was not just a nanby-panby aircrew perk! I did a Houchin in SketchUp a few years ago. Don’t think I’ve ever used it! https://i.imgur.com/y...

The Changes & Progress document has been updated to reflect the change of structure, as has my FTP folder. That's enough for today. Time for a beer!

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Thanks Ray. Question: with the A-29s, did you consider doing the Smoke Squadron ones? They’d be a nice addition to SBYS and a contrast to all the red and white! But no worries if you have other priorities. As with any of the aerobatic teams it’s difficult to write any kind of convincing traffic file...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

For those interested, I've completed a Scope/Overview spreadsheet of the entire project. It's in the Documentation folder of my FTP. At the moment, it includes up to 41 airfields of which 31 have been started - and mostly completed, or very close. I've organised the airfields into 5 geographic group...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

You’re right of course, Steve. I’ve gone down with a bit of a lurgy today so very little of anything got done! And tomorrow isn’t likely to be very productive either, but I’ll have a good think about how I structure the remainder of the project and I’ll have a chat with John about timings. Have we a...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Thanks chaps. That was a bit of a 'cri de couer' after one wine too many last night! You're quite right, the priority is Anapolis and really I need to pause everything else until that's done and out of the way. There's very little left to do on it now, anyway. I have a couple more traffic files to d...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Through a couple of observations that JY made, I know that there are a few anomalies with the airfields in the FTP. It's inevitable, I guess, with so many airfields within the project even though most of them are peripheral to the original brief, which was supporting John's KC-390s and (subsequently...
