As always, thanks for the Army Aviation love. I have flown next to/tried to avoid the Sing CH-47's at a JRTC rotation in Ft. Polk, LA. Didn't seen to like talking on radios going into various LZs.

I'm really thrilled to see this being offered. My dad was stationed at DNAS from when I was a few months old until I was 12 years old, and the base is like home to me. During that time the military was smaller and more like an extended family. At the same time, civilians were not especially friendly towards military families which resulted in us being more connected to the base than what seems to be the norm in modern life. A little overview of the base past might be interesting. During WWII and for a time beyond the base served as patrol base covering the Gulf of Mexico. At the same time the south side of the field was home to an aircraft assembly plant where P-51 Mustangs were assembled. After the war, unlike many other bases, the field remained open with several missions. There was a Navy Reserve Squadron flying F-4U Corsairs, along with a small number of utility a/c such as R4 and R5D aircraft providing support for various reserve and active duty missions. As well, support was provided for Navy blimps (blimps were not stationed there) and patrol a/c continued to be stationed at DNAS using P-2V's. Support was provided to training squadrons at Pensacola NAS as a destination for the aviation cadets first long distance cross country flight. The yellow SNJ's would arrive in large formations every few weeks to fill up the ramps over night. In the early '50s a couple of squadrons of F9F Panthers were stationed on the field. The F-8U Crusader (the last gunfighter) was assembled at the plant on the south side of the field as was the short lived Cutlass. Later Hughes took over the plant and assembled air to air missiles. On one occasion a B-36 Peacemaker with a serious engine problem made a successful emergency landing there, was repaired and took off for it's intended destination of Carswell AFB some days later. Various Air Force a/c made RONs there on a routine basis. The last time I went by the base Air Force Reserve C-130s were stationed there. To this day I still visit the base in my dreams, seeing the round two story gate house, the indoor deep water swimming pool, dispensary, post office, ship's store (too small to be called an Exchange), movie theather, hangers, base ops, ramps, repair shops and so on. I really loved this base and it played an important role in my young life. Thanks for putting this together. Ron

Is this the first time you've installed on of my UH-60 projects? If it is, I'm quite certain it's the model radius. The normal JFAI radius is much larger than the 35m I've reduced it to for my sceneries.

Yes this is the first time, but i cant understand , i have the same problem with ch47s !!

You can't see the CH-47s either?

Hmm. Are you sure you've got the traffic.bgl file in the fs9/scenery/world/scenery folder?

That's one of two possible causes I can think of that would keep both units form showting.

The other is that you don't have a .mdl file in with the repaints.

I just noticed that I have been referencing the AI Uh-60 radius as 35m. This is incorrect. It should be feet, not meters.
