Mike JG has very kindly provided some custom objects for Kadena...

Image

So, there's going to be a v2.0 in a couple of days. :D

Kadena v2.0 is here:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/888bn ... ODN_V2.zip

There are two AFCAD files included (new afcad files are necessary as some changes had to be made from v1). One file uses the parking codes from the first version for those of you that already recoded your AI to fit it, the second has MAIW parking codes. Keep the one you want, delete the other.

Custom scenery objects provided by Mike JG. Textures go in your texture folder. Object .bgl file goes where ever you hide your scenery libraries.

Have fun.

Initial testing in FSX was very good, I left the VTxx files in just to see, of course had a few elevation issues around the base, but overall very nicely done for a personal project. Motivation for me to continue learning ADEX for my own smaller Army Airfields.

I still can't find the F-2 model graham used for the repaints, or are they just HTAI F-16's?

Yes, it was poetic license used by Graham.

Thanks Steve, I have been searching all over for the F-2 is that plane any different in real life from an F-16 ... Isn't it just a Mitsubishi carbon copy of the Genersl Dynamics model? Are there any signature changes at all to reflect any independent design features? Just curious. I still can't find the repaints anywhere on any of the sites. I need to get them, can you help me track them down?

Dan,
I've never looked at the comparison, but the planform view tells the story:

I don't think that Graham released them to any of the usual sites. I think he just had them on his own site which in now down.

The best chance you have is that somebody on this forum still has the download and offer to send them to you.

When Graham withdrew from the scene we lost a lot of great schemes, that we always meant to download.

Cool guys thanks if anyone reading this has them please PM Me

Chris, I briefly looked at it and it seems like there almost is no comparison. Lockheed helped Mitsubishi design it, and it was only named F-2 to follow the F-1 and designate Japanese creative independence it seems like. They based their proposal on the F-16 Agile which the US declined anyway and went for another superior platform. You can't really mess with success.

That is correct. The F-2, although similar in appearance to the F-16 is a radically different aircraft with all new wings tail surfaces, large portions of the airframe and all the avionics. It's really similar to the difference between the Hornet and the Super Bug.

I am putting Japan together after my HD crash, I am trying to find the Mitsubishi F-2 paints again, and all of the links are broken on the boards so far. Can someone point me in the right direction or PM me and send them to me?

Thought this might help after you get the repaints for the HTAI models, I may try to put them in as well as I've always thought the F-2 camo was cool.

VP-5 is currently deployed to Kadena with their P-8s.

Now you can have them too:

These are built on a paintkit derived from the Pax river package P-8s. The Kadena scenery already has parking for them set up. Flight plans included.

Thanks for doing these as they just turned over with VP-16, the 15th P-8 was just delivered to NAS Jax.

@RKE, I typically watch these vids on while bored at work, all the P-3/RC-135 and now intercepts of P-8s by J-11s.

When I was searching photos on these airframes, several of them were in VP-16 markings not to long ago, so I suspect that airframes are being switched back and forth between squadrons on deployment... which will surely keep things interesting for updates.
